Shropshire Way - stage 14

Follows undulating farmland and woodland paths between Wem and Grinshill, featuring several moderate climbs and occasionally muddy stretches after rain. The 22km length makes it too demanding for young children or buggies—stick to shorter sections if needed. Dogs welcome but keep them leashed near livestock, which you'll encounter frequently crossing working farmland. Shropshire Way - stage 13

Follows the River Severn through flat meadows and gentle farmland between Montford Bridge and Shrewsbury, finishing with easy canal towpath walking. Suitable for families, though the distance is long – consider doing half. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Buggies fine on the towpath sections but trickier across fields. Lovely riverside scenery and a peaceful finish into the county town make this a rewarding low-level walk.

Shropshire Way - stage 15

Follows a challenging 21km section through varied Shropshire countryside with multiple steady climbs and descents—definitely not suitable for buggies or young children. Dogs welcome on this long-distance trail that typically crosses farmland, woodlands and quiet lanes. Rewards committed walkers with sweeping views across the Shropshire Hills and glimpses of the county's quintessential patchwork landscapes, though stamina needed for the full distance.
