The gentle rustle of canvas mingles with the distant bleating of Dales sheep as morning mist lifts from the valley floor, revealing the distinctive limestone scars that characterize this corner of the Yorkshire Dales. This is camping in its purest form, where the landscape speaks louder than any amenity list.
Hoggarths suits those seeking an unpretentious Yorkshire Dales experience, whether you're touring in a caravan, a campervan, or pitching a traditional tent. The site sits within reach of classic Dales walking country, where dry stone walls stitch together a patchwork of wildflower meadows and weathered fellsides. It's ideal territory for hikers, families wanting space to roam, and anyone craving that back-to-basics Yorkshire welcome.
Facilities remain unspecified, so it's worth contacting ahead to understand what's available during your stay. The campfire policy requires checking on arrival – potentially good news for those who enjoy an evening gathered around the flames. The overall impression is one of straightforward, traditional camping where the magnificent Dales scenery provides the main attraction.
