Beacons Way

Traverses the entire Brecon Beacons National Park over 152km, mixing moorland plateaus, river valleys, and mountain ridges with significant cumulative elevation gain. Not suitable for young children or buggies due to length, terrain, and steep sections. Dogs welcome but must be kept under control near livestock on open moorland. Rewards committed walkers with panoramic views across South Wales, passing waterfalls, ancient forests, and the highest peaks in southern Britain including Pen y Fan.

South Wales Traverse

Traverses rugged upland terrain across the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains with significant, sustained climbs and exposed ridge sections. Definitely not suitable for young children or buggies – this is a challenging multi-day backpacking route requiring navigation skills and mountain fitness. Dogs welcome but must be capable of long distances over rough ground. Rewards experienced walkers with spectacular panoramic views, remote wilderness, and a true sense of achievement crossing South Wales

Upper Tarell Valley Walk, East Wales

Follows the River Tarell upstream through open moorland with steady, moderate climbs—expect some steep sections near the valley head. Not suitable for buggies due to uneven terrain and stream crossings; manageable for older children comfortable with longer walks. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Showcases dramatic Brecon Beacons scenery with cascading waterfalls, ancient woodland pockets, and sweeping views across the Black Mountains, making it a rewarding half-day adventure for nature love
