Not suitable for buggies due to uneven chalk paths and steps; manageable for older children who are confident walkers. Dogs welcome but keep on leads near cliff edges and grazing livestock. Rewards you with sweeping views across the Solent and down to Sandown Bay, plus close-ups of the striking white cliffs.

The Duver Walk, Isle of Wight

Follows a flat, smooth coastal path along St Helens Duver, perfect for buggies and families with toddlers. Dogs welcome on leads. The easy terrain hugs the shoreline with views across the Solent, ideal for spotting yachts and wading birds. A gentle introduction to the Isle of Wight's coastal scenery with National Trust facilities nearby.

Bembridge and Culver Downs trail, Isle of Wight

Loops across dramatic chalk downland with steep climbs rewarding you with panoramic views over the Solent and English Channel. The clifftop sections and stiles make this unsuitable for buggies and challenging for very young children, though older kids will love the fort ruins at Culver Battery. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Expect exposed, windswept terrain – bring layers even in summer – and white chalk paths that can be slippery when wet.
