Follows gently rolling farmland and wooded valleys between Bridges and Stiperstones, with moderate inclines as you approach the distinctive quartzite ridge. Terrain includes field paths, quiet lanes and some potentially muddy woodland sections. Not suitable for buggies; manageable for older children comfortable with distance. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. The dramatic views from Stiperstones ridge and varied Shropshire countryside make this a rewarding section of the long-distance trail.

Shropshire Way - stage 03

Tackles 18km of rolling Shropshire countryside with moderate climbs and descents throughout—not suitable for buggies or very young children due to length and terrain. Dogs welcome on leads near farmland. Passes through traditional villages and offers sweeping views across the Welsh Marches, showcasing the county's quintessential patchwork fields and hedgerows. Best for experienced walkers comfortable with a full day's hike and potentially muddy field paths.

Stretches 177 miles along the Welsh-English border from Sedbury Cliffs to Prestatyn, following the ancient 8th-century earthwork with relentless steep climbs through the Wye Valley, Shropshire Hills and Clwydian Range.
