Coleridge Way

Follows the footsteps of poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge across 51 miles of varied Somerset terrain, from the Quantock Hills through Exmoor's rolling moorland to the coastal town of Lynmouth. Expect moderate to steep climbs, particularly over heathland and through wooded combes, with some challenging sections unsuitable for buggies or very young children. South West Coast Path (Section 1: Minehead to Porlock Weir)

Tackles steep climbs through ancient oak woodland and along dramatic clifftops, with ascents totalling around 600m over 15km. **Not suitable for buggies or young children** – this is challenging terrain with exposed sections and rugged coastal paths. Dogs welcome but must be fit and comfortable with steep inclines and livestock areas. Selworthy Circular Pink Route, Holnicote Estate

Winds through ancient oak woodland and open heathland on the Holnicote Estate with moderate climbs – some steep sections around Selworthy village. Suitable for older children but not buggies due to uneven woodland paths and stepped sections. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Worth it for sweeping views across the Bristol Channel, classic thatched cottages in Selworthy, and stunning autumn colours through Horner Wood.
