Cairngorms Trekking I

Follows high-altitude terrain through the Cairngorms with steep ascents and challenging, exposed sections over rocky paths and possibly pathless ground. Not suitable for young children or buggies—this is serious mountain walking requiring navigation skills and proper gear. Dogs allowed but must be fit and capable on rough terrain. Rewards you with stunning alpine scenery, dramatic corries, and the raw, wild character of Scotland's highest mountain plateau.

Derry Lodge Trail

Ventures deep into the Cairngorms wilderness following an old estate track through ancient Caledonian pine forest to a remote former hunting lodge. Mostly flat with gentle inclines on good gravel surface—fine for sturdy buggies and older children, though the 13km round trip demands stamina. Dogs welcome on leads near deer. The dramatic mountain backdrop, river crossings and genuine Highland isolation make this a quintessential Cairngorms experience, though weather can change rapidly so come prep

Cairn Toul and Sgor an Lochain Uaine Trail

Tackles exceptionally challenging, remote Munro terrain with steep, rocky ascents over loose scree and boulder fields - strictly for experienced, fit hillwalkers with navigation skills. Absolutely unsuitable for families, young children, or buggies. Dogs physically capable of scrambling are welcome but face demanding conditions. Rewards with spectacular high-altitude Cairngorms scenery, including two 4,000ft+ peaks and dramatic corries, though weather can turn severe quickly at any time of year.
