Major's Leap Walk, Wenlock Edge

Follows the dramatic limestone escarpment of Wenlock Edge through ancient woodland with steep climbs and uneven, rocky sections in places. Not suitable for buggies or very young children due to challenging terrain and cliff-edge exposure at Major's Leap viewpoint itself. Dogs welcome on leads. Rewards effort with sweeping Shropshire views across the Ape Dale valley and fascinating geology including fossils embedded in the woodland path.

Woodland and Countryside Walk, Benthall Hall

Winds through National Trust woodland and open countryside around a historic hall, mostly on well-maintained paths with gentle slopes and a few steeper sections through the woods. Suitable for families with older children who can manage the distance, but not buggy-friendly due to uneven woodland trails and stiles. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock and the hall grounds. Delivers lovely valley views, seasonal bluebells, and glimpses of the 16th-century manor house.
