The stone building sits solid in the Blackwood hills, with wood smoke drifting from the chimney on cold mornings and the kind of quiet you only get when the nearest village is a proper walk away.

This is one for couples after a proper bed and four walls, or anyone who wants the Forest of Dean on the doorstep without sleeping on the ground. There's a guest house with comfortable rooms and a couple of camping pods if you fancy something in between — useful for shoulder seasons or when the weather turns.
