The first thing you hear at Croyde is the Atlantic — a low rumble through the dunes, the thump and hiss of surf that never quite stops.
This is a surfer's camp first and foremost, a stone's throw from one of North Devon's most consistent breaks, but it works just as well for families chasing rock pools and couples who want salt air and fish and chips at sunset. Tent and campervan pitches keep things simple and the dog policy is flexible — just ask when you book. Croyde village is a short walk for wetsuits, boards, and properly good coffee, and the coastal path stretches in both directions if you want to earn your pint.
Onsite you've got showers and toilets, nothing fancy but clean and functional after a day in the sea. Campfires are worth checking on arrival — sometimes allowed, sometimes not, depending on conditions. The vibe is laid-back and sandy-footed, the kind of place where you fall asleep to breaking waves and wake up planning the next session in the water.
