Explores the expansive parkland and woodland of this National Trust estate on mostly flat, well-maintained paths with a few gentle inclines. The 9.6km loop works well for older children (ages 8+) but the distance is too long for little ones, and parts can be muddy making buggies impractical. Dogs welcome on leads throughout the estate. Highlights include ancient oak avenues, riverside meadows, and views of the grand Kingston Lacy House – a proper countryside ramble combining history with nature.

Winds through Moors Valley Country Park woodland on well-maintained, mostly flat paths with gentle undulations. Perfect for families with young children and pushchair-friendly throughout most sections. Dogs welcome on leads. Features interactive play sculptures and natural obstacles along the way, keeping little ones engaged whilst exploring mixed pine and broadleaf forest – ideal for burning energy before bedtime back at camp.

Castleman Trailway

Follows a disused railway line for 26.5km between Ringwood and Wimborne Minster, meaning it's flat, fully surfaced and perfect for families, buggies and dogs. The traffic-free path cuts through Dorset heathland and woodland with occasional sculptures and railway heritage markers. Ideal for leisurely cycling or walking sections—most people tackle 5-10km chunks rather than the full distance. Can get muddy after rain in woodland stretches.
