Cross Borders Drove Road (Traquair to Hawick)
Follows an ancient drove road through remote moorland hills between Traquair and Hawick, crossing challenging terrain with steep climbs and exposed sections. Not suitable for young children or buggies – this is a serious hill walk requiring navigation skills and proper equipment. Dogs welcome but keep under close control near sheep grazing areas. Offers spectacular solitude and sweeping Borders views, plus fascinating historical connections to cattle drovers who once travelled these high routes
