Coast to Coast Walk (Shap to Richmond)

Crosses challenging Pennine moorland with sustained climbs over high, exposed terrain including Nine Standards Rigg and Keld. Definitely not suitable for young children or buggies—this is serious hill walking requiring navigation skills and proper kit. Dogs welcome but need stamina for long days (typically split into 3-4 stages). Rewards include dramatic limestone country around Swaledale, historic market towns, and the satisfaction of conquering one of Britain's toughest long-distance sections.
