Spans approximately 36 miles through South Wales valleys and forests, linking mountain ridges with wooded gorges. Expect steep climbs between valleys, often on uneven forest tracks and exposed hillside paths – definitely not suitable for buggies or very young children. Dogs welcome but keep them close near livestock on open moorland sections. Rewards with dramatic valley views, industrial heritage sites, and genuine wilderness feel just minutes from former mining communities.

Vale of Neath Walk

Follows the scenic Neath Valley through varied woodland and riverside terrain with gentle to moderate inclines throughout. Suitable for older children but not buggy-friendly due to uneven paths and occasional steep sections. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Worth it for stunning valley views, historic industrial sites including waterfalls and old ironworks, and peaceful stretches along the River Neath. Some sections can be muddy after rain, so sturdy footwear essential.

Henrhyd Falls and Nant Llech walk, East Wales

Meanders through ancient woodland to one of Wales' tallest waterfalls (27m), with mostly moderate inclines and some steep steps near the falls themselves.
