Best visited May to September when butterflies are active – look for marbled whites, meadow browns and common blues dancing across the flower-rich turf overlooking the spectacular Gower coastline.

Exploring Cwm Ivy, Gower

Winds through National Trust woodland and along the peaceful Cwm Ivy valley on the north Gower coast. Mostly flat with one gentle climb, following clear paths through ancient trees before emerging at a scenic stream valley. Perfect for families and generally buggy-friendly on the main sections, though tree roots may require lifting in places. Dogs welcome on leads. Rhosili Down, Hillend and beach walk, Gower

Climbs steadily up Rhosili Down (190m) with some steep sections, then descends to stunning Rhosili Beach and Hillend. Not suitable for buggies due to rough clifftop terrain and inclines, but manageable for older children who can handle hills. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock and during bird nesting season (March-August). Rewards you with sweeping Gower Peninsula views, dramatic coastline, and one of Wales' most photographed beaches—worth every uphill step.
