Pennine Way (Hawes to Tan Hill)
Climbs steeply from Hawes through classic Yorkshire Dales countryside before crossing wild, exposed moorland to reach Britain's highest pub at Tan Hill. This 16-mile section tackles serious ascents including Great Shunner Fell (716m), with remote terrain and minimal shelter – strictly for experienced walkers with proper navigation skills. Not suitable for young children or buggies. Dogs welcome but keep on leads near livestock. Offers breathtaking panoramic views and genuine wilderness walking.
