Perfect for families with buggies on the estate sections, though some field paths may be muddy after rain. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Offers lovely views across to the fells and a chance to explore the house's famous gardens if visiting coincides with opening times.

Ullswater Way - Lowther Castle Loop

Follows well-maintained paths and parkland trails around the castle grounds with gentle inclines and one moderate climb offering views across the estate. Perfect for families with children aged 5+, though buggies will struggle on rougher woodland sections. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. The restored castle gardens and ruins make this a brilliant mix of history and countryside, with peacocks often spotted near the visitor centre.
