Pennine Way (Warland Reservoir to Calder Valley)

Worth doing for dramatic Pennine scenery, sweeping valley views, and the satisfaction of conquering a proper leg of Britain's most iconic long-distance trail.

Todmorden Centenary Way Link

Connects Todmorden's town centre with the circular Centenary Way, climbing steadily through mixed woodland and open hillside with some steep sections. Not suitable for buggies due to uneven paths and steps. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. The route rewards with valley views and provides access to longer moorland walks, making it a useful extension for those wanting to explore beyond the town's compact centre.

Todmorden Centenary Way

Circles Todmorden's surrounding hills with varied terrain from gentle valley paths to steep moorland climbs—expect proper ascents and potentially boggy sections after rain. Not suitable for buggies or young children due to length and elevation gain. Dogs welcome but keep on leads near livestock. Rewards with sweeping Pennine views across the Calder Valley and a real sense of the town's dramatic landscape setting.

Mytholmroyd Stoodley Pike

Climbs steeply from Mytholmroyd to the iconic Stoodley Pike monument perched on the Pennine moors above Calderdale. The ascent is challenging with sustained uphill sections on stone-flagged paths and rough moorland terrain – not suitable for buggies or very young children. Dogs welcome but keep them close near livestock and cliff edges. Rewards you with panoramic views across the valley and a striking piece of local history at the summit worth the effort.
