Circles the historic market town of Penistone through a mix of rolling South Yorkshire farmland and moorland edges with moderate climbs. Suitable for older children but not buggies due to stiles and uneven terrain. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Offers excellent Pennine views and passes interesting landmarks including old mills and stone markers, giving you a real feel for the town's rural setting and industrial heritage.

Peak District Boundary Walk Stage 7

Tackles 16.9km of varied Peak District terrain with moderate to steep climbs across moorland and valley paths. Not suitable for buggies or very young children due to length, uneven ground, and challenging ascents. Dogs welcome but keep on leads near livestock. Rewards with classic gritstone edges, sweeping moorland views, and that satisfying sense of completing a proper Peak District stage walk—ideal for experienced families with older children.

Tackles 17km of challenging Peak District terrain with steep climbs and descents across moorland and valleys—definitely not suitable for buggies or young children. Dogs welcome but need good fitness and recall given the distance and exposed sections. Rewards experienced walkers with dramatic millstone edge viewpoints, sweeping valley panoramas, and quintessential Dark Peak landscapes of heather moorland and gritstone outcrops that showcase why this national park earned its protected status.
