Romans and Reivers Route
Follows Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Borders across 84km of varied terrain, from rolling farmland to exposed moorland with steep climbs over the Cheviot Hills. Definitely not buggy-friendly—expect rough tracks, stiles, and significant elevation changes that challenge even seasoned walkers. Dogs welcome but must be controlled around livestock on working farms. Worth it for the Roman history, dramatic border scenery, and sense of walking ancient frontier landscapes where legionaries once patrol
