The Atlantic rollers hit Widemouth Bay with a low, constant rumble — you hear it from your pitch before you see the break.

This is a proper seaside caravan park for families and couples who want sand, surf and clifftop walks without the Newquay crowds. The broad sweep of beach is a five-minute stroll away, popular with surfers and bodyboarders all summer, and the South West Coast Path runs right past if you fancy dramatic headland rambles. Dogs are welcome by arrangement, so it works for four-legged coastal adventurers too. The North Cornwall coast here is all about that mix of rugged cliff and golden sand — Bude's a short drive north, with its sea pool and storm-watching reputation.

Pitches are for caravans and campervans, the sort of site where windbreaks flutter and wetsuits dry over car doors. Facilities aren't detailed, so it's worth calling ahead to check what's onsite and to confirm the campfire policy when you arrive. Expect a straightforward, no-frills setup where the beach does the entertaining — lively in school holidays, breezy and big-sky beautiful whenever you visit.
