Follows a dramatic clifftop diversion with moderate to steep sections and uneven, potentially exposed terrain—not suitable for buggies or very young children. Dogs welcome on leads near cliff edges. Delivers stunning coastal views across St Austell Bay and avoids the original route through Charlestown's harbour area, offering a more rugged alternative with typical South West Coast Path character: wild, windswept, and utterly rewarding for those comfortable with hills and height.

Terrain is rugged with exposed sections, narrow paths, and uneven ground, making it unsuitable for buggies and challenging for young children. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock and cliff edges. Rewards with stunning coastal views, hidden coves, and the picturesque Portholland beaches midway, plus proper Cornish fishing harbour atmosphere at both ends.
