The mix of open heath views and shaded woodland makes this a year-round favourite, with spring bluebells and autumn colours particularly rewarding.

Loops through ancient oak woodland and open heathland with gentle gradients throughout, perfect for families with buggies on the main paths (though some side trails are rougher). Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. The woodland edges offer excellent views across the Trent Valley, and spring bluebells are spectacular. National Trust site with good facilities, making it an easy half-day outing for all abilities.

Stone Circles Challenge

Explores ancient Neolithic and Bronze Age stone circles across moorland and countryside with moderate hills and uneven ground. Not suitable for buggies or very young children due to rough terrain and stile crossings. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Traces prehistoric monuments through atmospheric landscape, offering history enthusiasts a memorable journey through Britain's ancient past with stunning moorland views.
