Perfect for families and buggies on the main trail section, which runs along a former railway line with firm, level surfaces. Dogs welcome and often off-lead in quieter stretches. Offers stunning Peak District scenery, interesting rock formations, and potential wildlife spotting including dippers and wagtails, plus access to Thor's Cave if you fancy a short steep detour.

Peak Pilgrimage

Explores dramatic Peak District landscapes with challenging climbs and moorland stretches—expect steep ascents, rocky paths, and potentially boggy terrain in places. Not suitable for buggies or very young children due to rugged ground and significant elevation changes. Dogs welcome but keep on leads near livestock and wildlife. Rewards effort with stunning panoramic views, ancient stone formations, and that proper sense of wilderness that makes the Peaks special.

Ilam Park to Wetton Circular Walk, Ilam Park
