South West Coast Path (Section 16: Porthcothan to Newquay)
Follows rugged clifftops with some steep ascents and descents, particularly around Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay. Not suitable for buggies or very young children due to uneven coastal terrain and exposed cliff edges. Dogs welcome but must be kept under close control near livestock and cliff paths. Delivers spectacular Atlantic views, dramatic rock formations, and passes stunning sandy beaches including Watergate Bay – perfect for combining coastal walking with beach time and surf-watching.
