Cumbria Way
Stretches 73 miles from Ulverston to Carlisle through the Lake District's quieter valleys and fells. Expect varied terrain: gentle lakeside sections around Derwentwater contrast with steep climbs over High Pike. Not suitable for buggies or young children due to length, elevation, and remote stretches. Dogs welcome but must be under close control near livestock. Offers stunning fell views, historic market towns, and genuine Cumbrian countryside without the crowds of popular honeypot routes.
