Pickenhams Circular Walk

Loops through typical Norfolk countryside with gentle, flat terrain across farmland and quiet lanes between Great and Little Pickenhams. Suitable for families with older children who can manage 6.5km, but narrow field paths make buggies impractical. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Worth doing for the peaceful rural atmosphere and glimpses of traditional flint churches in both villages, plus it's well-waymarked by Norfolk Trails so easy to follow.

London to Walsingham - stage 08

Follows quiet lanes and field paths through rural Norfolk with gentle undulations and occasional stiles. Not suitable for buggies due to field gates and uneven terrain, but manageable for older children who can handle 15+ km days. Dogs welcome on leads through farmland. Part of the historic Walsingham Way pilgrimage route, passing through picturesque villages with medieval churches and traditional Norfolk flint architecture – rewarding for those seeking countryside solitude and cultural heritage

The Great Eastern Pingo Trail

Loops 7km through rare pingo wetlands—shallow glacial depressions now hosting wildlife-rich pools and meadows. Mostly flat on grass and boardwalk sections, though paths can be muddy after rain. Suitable for steady walkers and older children, but uneven ground and narrow boardwalks make buggies impractical. Dogs welcome on leads (ground-nesting birds present). Brilliant for birdwatching and experiencing unique Norfolk geology you won't find elsewhere in Britain.
