The smell of bacon drifts up the stairs on a Blackpool morning, and you're already closer to the Pleasure Beach than most of the guests still queuing at the tram stop.

This is one for couples after a proper base between the prom and the quieter streets inland, or small families who fancy a camping pod in a guest house garden rather than a full-on campsite. Dogs are welcome by arrangement, so worth a call if you're bringing yours along. It's Blackpool, so the Tower, the beach, and all the lights are a short walk or ride away — this works well if you want seaside fun without sleeping in a tent when the Irish Sea wind picks up.
