The morning mist rolls off the fields around this converted barn retreat in the far southeast corner of Cornwall, where the Rame Peninsula meets a tangle of quiet lanes and footpaths down to forgotten coves.

Glebe Barn suits couples and small families after something more sheltered than canvas — you're choosing between wooden chalets and camping pods here, all with a bit more insulation and comfort than a standard pitch. Sheviock itself is tiny, proper rural Cornwall, but you're only a short drive from the twin beaches at Whitsand Bay and the South West Coast Path, and the Tamar estuary feels close enough to taste the salt. Dog walkers should ask ahead about the current policy.

There's wifi onsite, which is either a blessing or defeats the point depending on your trip. Campfires are sometimes allowed, but you'll need to check when you arrive — don't assume. The vibe leans peaceful and low-key, the kind of place where you hear owls at night and wake to birdsong, not roadside chatter.
