The pitches are level and managed in the orderly way the Caravan and Motorhome Club does well, so it suits couples touring the area, retired folk doing the historic circuit, and anyone who values a tidy, no-fuss setup. Dogs are welcome by arrangement — the downland walks start practically from the gate.

Onsite you've got clean shower blocks and proper toilets, and you'll need to check the campfire policy when you arrive as it's site-dependent. The atmosphere is calm, neighbourly, more about exploring Salisbury and the surrounding monuments by day than late-night socialising. It's the sort of place you return to after a long afternoon among standing stones, make a cup of tea, and watch the light change over the hills.
