Three Peaks Walk

Tackles steep, challenging terrain across three prominent hills with sustained climbs totalling significant elevation gain. Not suitable for young children or buggies—this is a proper hill walk requiring good fitness and stamina. Dogs welcome but must cope with stiles and rocky sections. Rewards effort with panoramic Somerset views and a genuine sense of achievement across 27km of classic British countryside walking.

River Avon Trail

Follows the River Avon through varied countryside from its source near Chipping Sodbury to the Severn Estuary. Mostly flat to gentle terrain along riverside paths and quiet lanes, though some sections can be muddy after rain. Generally suitable for older children who can manage longer distances, but uneven ground and stiles make it tricky for buggies. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Offers peaceful waterside walking with chances to spot kingfishers, herons and otters, plus charming village

Community Forest Path

Spans 72km through mixed woodland and gentle farmland with mostly flat to gently rolling terrain, though some moderate climbs near forest edges. Best tackled in shorter sections rather than one go—ideal for families with older children who can handle a few miles, but the length and occasional muddy stretches make it unsuitable for buggies. Dogs welcome throughout. Offers peaceful escape through community-managed forests with good wildlife spotting and seasonal wildflowers.
