The wind hums through the heather, and beyond the stone walls, nothing but mountain and sky — this is a wilderness bothy, not a campsite with marked pitches and hot showers.

Davy's Bourach suits walkers, backpackers, and anyone comfortable with the bothy code: shelter shared freely, taken lightly, left clean. You can pitch a tent outside or bed down in the hut itself, depending on weather and how many others have the same idea. It's true mountain country, the kind of place you reach on foot with everything on your back. Dogs may be welcome — worth asking ahead — and campfires depend on conditions when you arrive.

Facilities are whatever you carry in. This is off-grid, self-sufficient camping in the old style: no wardens, no bookings, just a roof and four walls when the weather turns. The vibe is quiet, respectful, and utterly remote. If you're after tap water and a toilet block, look elsewhere. If you're after solitude and the hills at first light, you've found it.
