Worth it for stunning loch and mountain views, plus the satisfaction of completing this iconic section of Scotland's most famous long-distance trail

Crofters Woods Walk

Winds through mature woodland with gentle, well-maintained paths suitable for families and buggies on drier days. Dogs welcome to explore off-lead in sections. Expect occasional tree roots and muddy patches after rain, but terrain stays relatively flat throughout. Perfect for spotting wildlife, seasonal wildflowers, and enjoying peaceful forest canopy – a lovely short escape that works well with younger children who need an easy woodland adventure.

Ben Nevis Trail

Climbs Britain's highest peak at 1,345m via a steep, rocky mountain path with serious elevation gain over roughly 17km return. Definitely not suitable for young children or buggies—this is a challenging mountain hike requiring proper boots, weather gear, and fitness. Dogs can join but must be capable hill walkers. Rewards with spectacular Highland views from the summit, though often shrouded in cloud. Start early and allow 7-9 hours for the full ascent and descent.
