This is one for couples after a proper bed and a cooked breakfast, though there's a camping pod if you fancy something closer to canvas without quite committing to the ground sheet. Somerset's gentle on the bones here — walkers love the ridge trails, cavers disappear into Wookey Hole, and cider-route tourers use it as a civilised base between orchards. Dogs are welcome by arrangement, so worth a call ahead if you're bringing yours.
It's a guest house at heart, so expect warmth, a decent mattress, and the kind of breakfast that sets you up for the day. The pod gives you a bit more independence if that's your style. Campfires need checking when you arrive — they'll tell you what's allowed. Open all year, which makes it handy for those moody autumn weekends when the levels flood and the light goes gold. Quiet, traditional, proper Somerset.
