You can pitch a tent outside if the hut's full or you prefer your own shelter. Dogs are welcome by arrangement, and you can check about campfires on arrival, though fuel is scarce at altitude. It's open year-round, but winter here is serious — come prepared.
Expect stone walls, a roof, maybe a fireplace, and nothing else. No running water, no warden, no electric light. You carry everything in and everything out. The vibe is respectful, self-sufficient, and humbling — North Wales mountain culture at its rawest. Not a campsite. A refuge.
