Wirral Circular Trail

Loops the entire Wirral Peninsula across 60km of mixed terrain—flat coastal paths, gentle park trails, and a few moderately hilly woodland stretches. Best tackled in sections rather than one go, with family-friendly segments along beaches and promenades perfect for buggies and young kids. Dogs welcome throughout. Delivers brilliant Dee and Mersey estuary views, historic ports, nature reserves, and proper seaside charm without leaving the northwest.

Wirral Way

Follows a disused railway line between Hooton and West Kirby, offering flat, traffic-free walking on a well-maintained gravel path – perfect for families, buggies, and dogs. Stretches roughly 12 miles through woodland and countryside with occasional glimpses of the Dee Estuary. Ideal for easy, accessible rambles where you can choose your distance and turn back whenever suits. Popular with cyclists too, so keep little ones close on busier weekends.
