The wind hums through the pass, and there's nothing but the rush of the Abhainn Strath na Sealga and the creak of the bothy door—Shenavall sits miles from any road, deep in the wild heart of Fisherfield.

This is for proper walkers and wild campers who've earned their bed: the bothy itself sleeps a handful in basic stone rooms, but most folk pitch on the rough ground nearby. You'll need full kit, map skills, and several hours' hiking from Corrie Hallie or Kinlochewe. Dogs are often welcome but worth checking with the Mountain Bothies Association beforehand. No phone signal, no warden, just the mountain code and whoever else has made the trek.

There's a fireplace inside if you've carried fuel, but campfires outside need checking—erosion and fire risk matter here. It's year-round open, though winter demands real experience. The vibe is silent, humbling, utterly off-grid. If you're after solitude and big skies, and you know what you're doing in the hills, Shenavall is as raw and honest as Scottish camping gets.
