Causeway Coast and Glens - 14 - Binevenagh

Climbs steadily up Binevenagh's distinctive basalt cliffs with some steep, rocky sections and exposed paths near the cliff edge—not suitable for buggies or very young children. Dogs welcome but keep on leads near livestock and cliff tops. Rewards with spectacular views over Lough Foyle, Magilligan Strand, and across to Donegal, plus fascinating columnar basalt formations similar to the Giant's Causeway without the crowds.

North Sperrins Way

Traverses rugged moorland and mountain terrain across the Sperrin Mountains with significant climbs and descents throughout. Not suitable for buggies or young children due to remote, challenging conditions and poor weather exposure. Dogs welcome but must be kept under close control near grazing sheep. Rewards experienced walkers with sweeping views over unspoilt uplands, ancient blanket bog, and a real sense of wilderness in Northern Ireland's largest upland area.

Roe Valley Country Park

Meanders through ancient oak woodland and follows the River Roe past waterfalls and historic linen mill ruins. Mostly flat riverside paths with some gentle gradients, suitable for families and pushchair-friendly on main trails (woodland sections can be muddier). Dogs welcome on leads. The mix of industrial heritage, tree-canopied paths and rushing water makes this a lovely ramble year-round, particularly atmospheric when the falls are in full flow after rain.
