Worth it for the peaceful setting, views of the Elizabethan manor house, and glimpses of ancient grazing pastures – perfect for a quick stretch after visiting the house and gardens.

Round Cropredy Walk

Circles the charming Oxfordshire village of Cropredy, following mostly flat towpaths along the Oxford Canal and field paths through gentle farmland. Perfect for families and buggy-friendly in dry conditions, with minimal incline throughout. Dogs welcome on and off-lead sections. Lovely pub stop opportunities in the village, plus canal boat spotting and picturesque bridges make this a relaxed, scenic countryside amble.

Battlefields Trail

Winds 32km through undulating Warwickshire countryside linking key sites from the 1642 Battle of Edgehill. Expect moderate climbs across farmland and quiet lanes with some steep sections near the escarpment viewpoints. Generally suitable for older children used to longer walks, but length and terrain make it unsuitable for buggies or very young kids. Dogs welcome on leads through working farmland. Offers genuine Civil War history combined with excellent ridge-top views across the vale—rewarding
