Peak District Boundary Walk Stage 12

Tackles moderately steep climbs through classic Peak District moorland and valleys over 10.4km. Not suitable for buggies or very young children due to uneven terrain and stiles, though older kids with stamina will manage. Dogs welcome but keep on leads near livestock. Rewards with sweeping Derbyshire views, atmospheric gritstone edges, and quintessential Peak walking that showcases why this area earned National Park status.

High Peak Trail

Follows a disused railway line for 27km through the Derbyshire Peak District, meaning it's mostly flat with a gentle, well-maintained stone surface—perfect for families, buggies, and dogs. The traffic-free path runs from Cromford to Dowlow, passing dramatic limestone scenery, old railway tunnels, and countryside views. Excellent for cycling too. Can tackle shorter sections or commit to the full route, with refreshment stops at High Peak Junction and Parsley Hay.

Limestone Way

Stretches 74km from Castleton to Rocester through the White Peak's limestone plateau, offering moderate terrain with some steep climbs around dales and quarries. Mostly well-marked bridleways and footpaths suitable for experienced walkers, but lengthy sections make it challenging for young children and unsuitable for buggies.
