The morning mist lifts off the marshes here, and you wake to the distant cry of lapwings across the Waveney Valley flatlands.

This is proper Norfolk Broads country, tucked into the quiet lanes around Burgh St Peter where the water meadows stretch wide and the sky feels enormous. The site offers camping pods and chalets rather than traditional pitching — good for couples after a proper bed and a bit of comfort, or small families who want the camping feel without the tent faff. Dogs are welcome by arrangement, so worth asking ahead if you're bringing one along.

You've got wifi onsite, which is handy for rainy evenings or keeping the kids entertained. Campfires are a possibility but you'll need to check the current policy when you arrive. It's a peaceful, tucked-away sort of place — the kind where you hear more birdsong than traffic, and the nights are genuinely dark.
