River Wye Lodge

The Wye slips past just beyond the lawn, and if you wake early enough you'll hear it before you see it — that low, constant whisper over stone that makes you want to stay in bed just a bit longer.

This one's more retreat than campsite. The camping pods suit couples after a quiet weekend or walkers tackling the Wye Valley who don't fancy wrestling tent pegs after a long day on the hills. The guest house rooms add a bit of flexibility if the weather turns or you're introducing someone gently to the idea of sleeping outdoors. It's very much Wye Valley territory here — wooded gorges, riverside paths, and that particular kind of stillness you only get near big, old rivers.

Campfires need checking on arrival, which usually means they'll point you to a firepit or advise based on conditions. It's open all year, so spring and autumn are lovely if you want the river mostly to yourself.
