South West Coast Path (Section 47: Seatown to Abbotsbury)
Climbs steeply out of Seatown with relentless ups and downs through dramatic Golden Cap estate – this is the highest point on the entire south coast at 191m. Not suitable for buggies or very young children due to challenging terrain and steep coastal gradients. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Descends to shingle Chesil Beach before reaching Abbotsbury's swannery. Spectacular Jurassic Coast views and fossil-rich cliffs make the effort worthwhile, but expect a proper workout.
