Follows a short coastal diversion west of Charlestown harbour, likely involving steep sections and uneven cliff-edge paths typical of Cornwall's rugged coastline. Not suitable for buggies or very young children due to terrain and proximity to cliff edges. Dogs welcome but keep on leads near drops. Offers dramatic sea views and a taste of the South West Coast Path's character without committing to a marathon – ideal for stretching legs between beach visits or harbour exploring.

South West Coast Path (Section 32: Mevagissey to Par)

National Trails

Follows dramatic clifftops and secluded coves between two historic fishing harbours, with steep ascents and descents throughout – definitely not suitable for buggies or very young children. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock and cliff edges. The terrain is rugged and can be muddy after rain, but rewards with stunning coastal views, hidden beaches like Pentewan Sands, and the chance to spot seabirds and wildflowers along this classic stretch of England's longest National Trail.

Par Beach Trail

Winds along the dramatic Cornish coastline to Par Beach, offering stunning sea views and access to a sandy cove perfect for rockpooling. The terrain is moderate with some uneven coastal paths and gentle inclines – manageable for older children but not suitable for buggies. Dogs welcome year-round. Worth it for the classic Cornwall combination of clifftop scenery and a rewarding beach finish where kids can explore tidal pools.
