South West Coast Path (Section 4: Combe Martin to Woolacombe)

Traces dramatic North Devon coastline with relentless steep ascents and descents over clifftops and headlands – genuinely challenging terrain unsuitable for buggies or young children. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock and cliff edges. Rewards effort with spectacular ocean views, dramatic rock formations at Morte Point, and sweeping beaches at Woolacombe. One of the coast path's most demanding but scenic sections, requiring good fitness and sturdy boots.

Woolacombe Community Trail

Loops through Woolacombe village and surrounding coastal paths with gentle to moderate climbs offering spectacular views across the bay. Mostly manageable for families with older children who can handle uneven coastal terrain and some steeper sections, though not suitable for buggies due to paths and steps. Dogs welcome but keep on leads near livestock and nesting birds. Perfect for combining beach time with exploring this classic North Devon surf village and its dramatic Atlantic coastline.

South West Coast Path (Section 5: Woolacombe to Braunton)

Follows Devon's dramatic coastline with moderate to steep sections over grassy headlands and sandy descents. Families with older children (8+) will manage, but buggies are unsuitable due to uneven clifftop paths and steps. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock and during bird nesting season. Rewards you with sweeping views across Morte Bay, vast sandy beaches at Saunton Sands, and a mix of rugged cliff scenery transitioning to gentler dune systems approaching Braunton.
