Tintagel walk, North Cornwall

Follows the dramatic clifftop around Tintagel Castle with moderate inclines and uneven coastal path sections – not suitable for buggies and tricky for very young children due to drops and steps. Dogs welcome on leads. Stunning Atlantic views, legendary Arthurian connections, and the striking footbridge to the castle island make this a must-do despite the short distance. Can get busy in summer.

Rocky Valley walk, North Cornwall

Traces a dramatic wooded valley down to a rocky cove, passing two mysterious Bronze Age labyrinths carved into slate near the ruins of Trewethett Mill. The narrow path can be muddy and uneven with steps and steep sections – not suitable for buggies, but manageable for steady walkers aged 5+. Dogs welcome on leads. Short but atmospheric, combining ancient history with coastal scenery and the chance to scramble on rocks at the beach.

South West Coast Path (Section 13: Tintagel to Port Isaac)

Tackles dramatic clifftop terrain with steep ascents and descents throughout—challenging gradients make this unsuitable for buggies and tough for young children. Dogs welcome but keep on leads near cliff edges and livestock. Rewards effort with stunning Atlantic views, ancient slate cliffs, and picturesque fishing villages including photogenic Port Isaac. Rocky, uneven paths require proper walking boots and reasonable fitness. Best for experienced walkers ready for a proper coastal workout.

South West Coast Path (Section 12: Crackington Haven to Tintagel)
