The Skirrid trail in the Sugar Loaf and Usk Valley, East Wales
Climbs steeply to the summit of Skirrid Fawr (486m) via woodland and open hillside, rewarding your effort with sweeping views across the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. Not suitable for buggies or very young children due to the challenging ascent and uneven, rocky terrain. Dogs welcome but keep on leads near grazing livestock. A proper hill walk with historical significance—locals say the mountain split during the Crucifixion.
