Circles Sheffield across 85km of surprisingly varied terrain – woodland, parkland, riverside paths and open moorland with some challenging climbs, particularly on the western sections near the Peak District edge. Peak District Boundary Walk Stage 9

Tackles 14.5km of classic Peak District terrain with moderate to steep climbs and descents over moorland and valley paths. Not suitable for buggies or young children—this is a proper hiking stage requiring fitness and navigation skills. Dogs welcome but keep them close around livestock. Rewards effort with dramatic gritstone edges, sweeping moorland views, and that satisfying sense of tackling a long-distance trail section through some of Derbyshire's finest upland scenery.

Porter Brook Trail

Follows Sheffield's Porter Brook through wooded valleys and urban parkland with gentle, mostly flat terrain on well-maintained paths suitable for buggies and families. Dogs welcome on leads near picnic areas. Connects green spaces from the Peak District fringe to the city centre, offering surprisingly peaceful nature moments alongside babbling water, with optional detours to historic mill sites and Endcliffe Park's café.
