Boscastle Harbour walk, North Cornwall

Hugs the dramatic North Cornwall coastline around a historic fishing harbour with slate-built quays and a natural inlet carved by two rivers. Mostly flat harbourside paths with some steps and uneven cobbles, plus a short climb if tackling the clifftop viewpoint. Suitable for older children but tricky with buggies due to steps and narrow sections. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock and nesting birds. Boscastle and the Valency Valley walk, North Cornwall

Follows the dramatic Valency Valley inland from Boscastle's historic harbour, climbing moderate gradients through ancient woodland alongside a rushing stream. Not suitable for buggies due to uneven paths, stone steps and stiles, but manageable for steady walkers aged 6+. Dogs welcome on leads (livestock and nesting birds). The reward: enchanting mossy woods, stone bridges, and that classic Cornish combo of rugged coast meeting secret valley – National Trust managed with good waymarking.
