Moderate terrain with steady climbs and exposed ridge sections—not suitable for buggies or very young children. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. The dramatic coastal finish at Ballard Down and Old Harry Rocks makes this challenging 15km trek genuinely rewarding for older families and experienced walkers.

Traces an ancient pilgrimage path across Purbeck with mixed terrain—expect gentle farmland stretches punctuated by steeper climbs over chalk ridges. Not ideal for buggies due to stiles, uneven ground and occasional muddy sections, but older children who enjoy history will love the medieval connections. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. The appeal lies in sweeping Dorset views, passing Norman churches, and walking in centuries-old footsteps through quintessentially English countryside.
